Galois demonstrates a remote takeover attack on a commercial, off-the-shelf UAV, and shows the features of SMACCMPilot, a UAV software system that is provably invulnerable to large classes of attack. The techniques used on SMACCMPilot would address the same security vulnerabilities in many systems, including modern automobiles and the Internet of Things (IoT).
