Linux Centos 6 - Set up FTP Server for local accounts using GUI (Gnome)

In this video, I set up a Centos FTP server using the VSFTPD program. First we need to install the daemon and configure the vsftpd.conf configuration file to allow users with local accounts to access their home directories. Then the vsftpd daemon is started and enabled so it can start when the server boots. A few troubleshooting tips (I actually went through these problems myself when setting up): 1) FTP port 21 should be enabled on the firewall otherwise clients won't be able to access the server using the ftp protocol. It's usually not enabled by default. 2) Most people just disable SELINUX if it seems to be causing any problems. If you don't want to disable SELINUX completely, enabling the following policy is required if allowing local user account access to home directories using ftp. "Allow ftp to read/write in the user home directories". Find it in the SELINUX policies and enable it.
